- Red circles: restrictions and prohibitions.
- Blue circles: positive instructions.
- Triangles: warnings.
- Rectangles: information and directions.
- Temporary roadworks signs: treat temporary instructions as real road rules, not optional advice.
- Large-vehicle restrictions: height, width and weight signs deserve dedicated HGV/PCV revision.
