Give extra time and space to people who can be harder to see or more seriously injured in a collision.
Who needs extra care
- Pedestrians, especially children and older people.
- Cyclists.
- Motorcyclists.
- Horse riders.
- People using mobility aids.
- Anyone hidden by parked vehicles, large vehicles or road layout.
Large-vehicle drivers
HGV and Bus/PCV drivers should be especially aware of blind areas, rear swing, wheel cut-in and the risk of turning across cyclists or pedestrians.
