Failed the Theory Test: What Next?
Use the score feedback to guide your next revision block instead of immediately repeating the same preparation.
When can you retake?
For the standard Great Britain car theory test, you can rebook immediately but the new test date must be at least 3 working days away. If you fail one part, you still need to take the full test again.
A better retake plan
- Use the result letter to identify whether multiple choice, hazard perception or both caused the failure.
- Practise the weakest topic first instead of repeating only full mocks.
- For hazard perception, practise recognising the developing point rather than simply increasing click frequency.
- Return to full mocks only after focused revision scores improve.
