Theory Test Day Checklist

A simple checklist to reduce avoidable test-day problems.

Before you leave

  • Check the exact test-centre address and appointment time.
  • Take the correct driving licence/documentation.
  • Plan to arrive around 15 minutes before the test.
  • Turn off electronic devices before entering, including phones and smart watches.
  • Do not cram new material in the final minutes; review only key weak points.

At the centre

GOV.UK says candidates should arrive 15 minutes before the test. If you are late, the test can be cancelled and the fee lost. Devices that cannot be switched off can also prevent you taking the test.
